Summary:

Great looking, super-easy to use, easy to clean. Restricted to using Nespresso pods.

After a few months of lightly nudging my boss with suggestions of upgrading our coffee system he finally listened to me. I walked into our break room and found the Nespresso CitiZ D120 staring me in the face.  I was in love instantly.

Thankfully, so was my boss.

I am very happy with my at home espresso machine but admit having a mid-afternoon from the Nespresso CitiZ D120 makes my 2pm slump disappear. Prior to the office obtaining this machine I would spend time thinking about going home and grabbing an espresso. This is no longer the case.

Nespresso CitiZ D120 Features

Nespresso D120

Nespresso D120

The Nespresso D120 looks so retro and modern while still being more compact compared to many other models on the market. More compact the machine the more room on your counter top. No one can complain about that!

By using compact capsules to give you the perfect serving ever time Nespresso takes the guess work out of espresso. It has a 19 bar pump to make sure you get all the flavors and aroma you could ever want or need. 19 bars is pretty high. Most machiensa are 15 bars.

The integrated Aeroccino (magic milk frothing contraption) provides you with the option to make cappuccinos or lattés. It has its own waste disposal system and holds up to 11 used capsules to throw away when you get the time or if it gets full.  The unit includes a one liter water tank and removable drip tray for easy cleaning. This makes clean up a snitch.

Warranty Information

Most espresso machines will come with a one year warranty. This machine is no different.  The machine is very durable and easy to use so chances are you will not have to use this feature.

What I like about the Nespresso CitiZ D120

nespresso citiz d120I love the look of this machine. It accents the break room in a way that I could not have dreamed about. I almost want to know how it would look on my kitchen counter. I love the automation of this machine too. All you need to do is press a button and you have great espresso.  Being in an office this is a great feature. With so many people using the machine there is no reset buttons and features.

Cleaning this unit is one of the things I really thought would be hard but it takes me about five minutes a week to do so. I consider that a great thing. The Aeroccino!  Wow, I love this thing. I have been known to use it to put crème on top of pies. I think it is a great addition to a unit at this price.

Speaking of it’s price, that is something that deserves to be talked about. At only round about $250.00 you’ll spend around ten percent on what I did for espresso last year at my local coffee shop. It does cost around fifty five cents per cup of coffee which is way less than a grande latte so a good savings. The pods are great! I don’t have to measure or do the compression thingy and mess up some great coffee while learning.

What I dislike about the Nespresso CitiZ D120

The main thing I dislike is the fact that you have to order the pods online. I have yet to find a store near me that sells them but that being said for the convenience and ease that this unit brings to my life I consider it well worth the time. Just make sure you have extras because you will hate it if you run out.

Conclusion:

There are many machines out there but I do recommend this one for its ease and style. For someone just getting into espresso this machine is a great price. A button push away from home made espresso so how can you go wrong.
