The best feature to this espresso machine is that it makes both espresso and cappuccino. But being that I don’t really drink cappuccinos it’s nice to have when family and friends come over. You will be able to twice from either setting with easy even if you use one much more than the other. My favorite thing about the machine is the speed it heats up and it’s compact style. It fits underneath my kitchen cabinets easily.
Using the machine is easy; making the perfect espresso is not. We do not give the Starbucks Baristas enough credit. It is much harder than it looks. It is doable though. I have seen espresso machines go for thousands of dollars and let’s face it; I don’t have that type of cash. I made the investment to save money over a long period of time. No more $7 coffee in the morning, and wasteful paper cups. It is a wonderful thing to see your cash flow grow.
A surprising feature is the duel filter system. This makes it easy to try new flavors of coffees without having to buy bags of this or that. There are coffee pods that come into verity packs you can use with this machine as well. Every morning you can have a different flavor. It never gets old. Do not discount the coffee ground method either. It really is just a matter of preference because both ways are simple to operate.
If you are new to the espresso game there may be times you make a few mistakes. With this machine you do not have to worry much. The cleanup is simple and there is a no drip design. You really do have to try and make a mess with this machine, it’s really easy to clean.
Concerns over the DeLonghi EC702
There are not many negative things I can say about this machine. Without getting too picky or talking about surprising aspects of the machine I would have to point out that it is a little noisy. I know espresso machines are not super quiet no matter what machine you are using. However, at start-up, due to the pumps, it is unexpectedly loud. This quiets down quickly though.
I also had to learn from trial and error regarding the filters. Like most espresso machines until you get the filters to catch the coffee flavor there may be a small metallic taste to your coffee. This is common and after about 5 cups the taste will be completely gone. I recommend the running a pot of coffee into the filter and tossing the product the first time you use it. This should take care of the problem.
I had a few problems using the pods that came with it but I’m ok with that because I prefer using fresh coffee.

No lies, the reason I bought this product was the price. It seemed to fit my budget. I looked into reviews and found more good than bad being said about it. I needed something basic at the time and this machine was perfect. And it isn’t DeLonghi’s cheapest or most basic model. It looks pretty smart in my kitchen I think.
I was not sure if I was going to use the machine as often as I intended. It was wonderful to take my bumps in the espresso making road and turn this into the first thing I do every morning.
